There are lots of places you can do zip lining off a cruise ship. There are zip lining locations all over the world. Many of the more mountainous locations such as Jamaica, Roatan Honduras, Hawaii, Bali and others afford you some wonderful tropical trips down a mountain. As one rider recently found out, you might even run into a sloth. They do like to hang out on zip lines in the Caribbean.

Zip lining in the Caribbean has become more and more popular as tourists make their way to this beautiful area of the world. If you’re planning on taking in the natural beauty of an island with lush greenery, clear blue water, and white sandy beaches, you might want to consider combining your zip line experience with some other types of outdoor adventure sports as well!

Integrating Your Coaching Program

Anyone who has been to or seen a Tony Robbins seminar knows that it is as much about the state you are in as the content. You have to have the right energy to incorporate the information. Unfortunately, we aren’t all that energizing. We want people to step out of their comfort zone and preferably have a rush of positive brain chemicals. Traveling 30 feet above the ground down the side of a mountain can be both an individual confidence builder, and a great team support exercise.

Organizing the Tour

Finding a zip line tour company is not that difficult. If you want convenience, booking directly through the shore excursion desk is often your best bet. You can even set these up in advance and bundle the activities into your price.

If you want to use other providers, that can work out well too. We’ve done both, and that’s a longer discussion we can address if we plan out your coaching cruise program. If there are specific trips you are interested in, most of them have extensive websites with all kinds of information, including reviews and testimonials. Take some time to poke around before choosing your company. You want to be sure you’re picking someone who can deliver a quality experience—not only do they need to have great equipment and trained guides, but they should also be able to create an environment that’s fun for everyone involved.

Wear Comfortable Clothes

You’ll be in constant motion on your zip line adventure, so wear clothes that are both warm and flexible. The last thing you want is for a long sleeve shirt or bulky jeans to get caught and pull you off course! However, be sure not to wear anything too loose either—you don’t want your clothes getting tangled up during your trip. Most zip lining adventures require participants to wear athletic shoes, but check with them first before leaving footwear behind.

Bring Supplies

The last thing you want to do is get up on that platform and realize you left your bug spray or sun screen back at your hotel. It’s a good idea to bring a light snack with you (e.g., beef jerky or granola bars). You also want to make sure you have enough water with you. Since some zip line trips include other activities such as snorkeling, you may want to check if there are restrictions on sun screen or insect repellants.

Prepare For Exhilaration

If you’re heading out for a zip line ride, you’ll want to make sure that you are mentally and physically prepared. Note also that most zip lines have a weight limit of 250-300 lbs. This may mean rethinking some of your activities. For those that are able to ride, it’s like to be an emotional, exciting or scary experience. You can build some activities and lessons into the zip line trip.

Don’t Forget Your Camera

No matter where you go zip lining, one thing is certain: You’re going to want pictures to remember it. Make sure you plan ahead, and bring a camera with you on your excursion. This will ensure that you are able to take beautiful pictures of your amazing experience! Try not to bring a cell phone since there are more than a few of them below the paths of zip lines. Getting a waterproof go-pro or similar camera with attachments is often your best be.
